VESTUL ROMÂNESC ŞI CIVILIZAŢIA MEDIEVALĂ
THE WEST OF ROMANIA AND THE MEDIEVAL CIVILIZATION
Calea Victoriei nr. 125, sector 1, Bucureşti, România
The Western part of the present Romania kept during the Middle Ages a close contact with the Western and Central Europe as well as with the Southern Europe. The testimonies of these contacts were preserved in the popular creation of this zone but also in the written art and culture. We can assert that the Western Romanian Plain was a ramification towards North of a „cultural corridor” that began far in the heart of the Balcanic Peninsula and made the connection during the Middle Ages between the Byzantine sphere of influence and Eastern and Central Europe.
