Abstract
In his rich and overflowing literary production, Tommaso Landolfi gives the representation of animality a distinguished place: on the one hand, his bestiary is dense and proposes different animal species which are victims or executioners, on the other hand, his vision of humanity aims at revealing bestiality in human beings. Among his characters haunted by bestiality and/or animated by a strong animality, women play a special role: either they are an object of sacrifice or they are venerated divinities . In any case, they allow to be elsewhere.
We will study the case of La pietra lunare where a young lady, Gurù, initiates a young poet under the hypnotic eye of the moon. In this novel, Landolfi deals with the myths of Medusa and Artemis in order to create a panic world where the young neophyte, touched by the hand of God, returns, changed, to his own reality.
Résumé
Dans sa riche et foisonnante production littéraire, Tommaso Landolfi donne une place de choix à la représentation de l’animalité : d’une part son bestiaire est dense et propose des figures d’animaux victimes ou bourreaux et de l’autre sa vision de l’humanité a pour enjeu de révéler la bestialité des êtres. Parmi ses personnages en proie aux bêtes et/ou animés d’une forte animalité, les femmes occupent une position particulière : elles sont à la fois objets de sacrifice et divinités vénérées ; dans tous les cas, elles permettent d’atteindre un ailleurs.
Nous étudierons le cas de La pietra lunare où une jeune femme, Gurù, initie un jeune poète sous le regard hypnotique de la lune. Dans ce roman, Landolfi revisite les mythes de Méduse et d’Artémis pour créer un monde panique où le jeune néophyte touche du doigt le divin avant de revenir, changé, dans sa réalité.
Rezumat
În bogata sa producţie literară, Tommasso Landolfi oferă un spaţiu aparte reprezentării animalităţii; pe de o parte, bestiarul său este dens şi propune figuri de animale, victime sau călăi, iar pe de altă parte viziunea sa asupra umanităţii care are ca ţintă să reveleze bestialitatea fiinţei. Printre personajele sale pradă animalelor şi/sau animate de o puternică animalitate, femeile ocupă o poziţie aparte. Ele sunt în acelaşi timp obiecte de sacrificiu şi divinităţi venerate; în toate cazurile, ele dau posibilitatea de a atinge un strămoş.
Vom studia cazul din La pietra lunare, în care o femeie, Gurù, iniţiază o tânără poetă sub privirea hipnotică a Lunii. În acest roman, Landolfi revalorifică mitul Meduzei şi al lui Artemis spre a crea o lume panicată în care tânăra neofită atinge cu degetele divinul înainte de a reveni, schimbată, în realitate.
