THE HIGH STYLE OF TUDOR ARGHEZI. THE SEMANTICS OF THE SOUL

Abstract
We have shown with this study that soul, as a Christian symbol, has different meanings in the Arghezian poetical language. It means both angel and demon. What impressed us is the frequency of this word in Tudor Arghezi’s poetry and the capacity to adapt itself to the context. The expressive tools that define the high style in Arghezi’s poetry are: God, sky, soul, moon, land, bird, water etc. The aim of our study is to investigate the semantic of one such term.
