RELEVANŢA DISCURSULUI IRONIC LITERAR

THE RELEVANCE OF THE IRONIC LITERARY SPEECH

LA RELEVANCE DU DISCOURS IRONIQUE LITTÉRAIRE

RELEVANŢA DISCURSULUI IRONIC LITERAR

Abstract
According to the theory about irony stated by Grice (1975), using an ironic attitude, during the literary speech, is based on broking some conversational rules. Therefore, the message, as well as the form through which is transmitted, may disturb the interlocutors.
Rachel Giora (1995), through her theory about irony, proposes a solution to solve this conversational conflict, by using some affirmative sentences, that will not denigrate the receiver (Leech 1983), but which will deliver the message correctly.
Under this circumstances, it arises the incertitude that the given information is relevant (the theory of Dan Sperber & Deidre Wilson, 2004), that is correctly perceived and that its initial purpose is achieved.
