Abstract
In the study History of the parks of Arad town (XIX-XX centuries) the author refers to the evolution of the green spaces, from private decorative gardens to public squares, parks and wood parks. The most important issue of our study is the grove “Păduriţă” near “Mureşul-Mort” channel and its lake. Its place became secondary in relation with the attraction for the swimming-pool (“Ştrandul” public) and for “Ceala” forest.
