Abstract

The history of the Ottetelesanu institute begins in 1876 when it was stipulated in his will

that his fortune must be used for the foundation of an institute. The purpose of the institute was to

help some young and poor girls to learn how to become mothers and wives as good as they could.

Ioan Slavici was the headmaster of the institute and he had an important role due to his

preoccupation and abnegation . After he was forced to resign, the institute began to regress.
