Abstract
The linguistic calque is currently one of the most fashionable means of vocabulary expansion. Taking into consideration the reality of globalisation, it is only natural for it to manifest itself at the linguistic level, thus feeding the Romanian vocabulary with many calqued new words, ready to express the new-imported notions. After the Slavic and French influences, it is now time for the English one to leave its mark on our language and consequently record all major economic, political, social, technical changes that take place at lexical level, primarily in terminologies, where they express new technological, administrative or business models.
