Abstract
It is admirable that you can also read Eminescu in Swedish, a language much more restricted than English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish. This mission was accomplished thanks to Ion Milos, the one who translated even 30 poems and poems from the great poet’s work, and the volume titled Over the Peaks (Över höjderna). Translating Eminescu into Swedish, Milos managed to make it known in Scandinavia. Being a “solitary fighter in the space of his four cultures” (Mihai Cimpoi), he built a huge bridge linking the north to South Eastern Europe. The mystery of Ion Miloş’s translations of force can be found in his destiny as a Romanian and universal creator, at the same time, a minority and exile, thinker, who has above all his mother tongue, his roots, the preservation of his identity, his way of be and think beyond linguistic lines and barriers or geographic delimitations. The echo of his translations resounds over the peaks away, linking the two Peninsulas: the Balkan and the Scandinavian.
Rezumat
Este admirabil faptul să îl poţi citi pe Eminescu şi în limba suedeză, limbă de o circulaţie mult mai restrânsă decât engleza, franceza, germana, italiana ori spaniola. Această misiune s-a realizat datorită lui Ion Miloş, celui care a tradus chiar 30 de poeme şi poezii din opera marelui poet roman iar volumul l-a intitulat Peste vârfuri (Över höjderna). Traducându-l pe Eminescu în suedeză, Miloş a reuşit să îl facă cunoscut şi în Scandinavia. Fiind un „luptător solitar în spaţiul celor patru culturi de care aparţine” (Mihai Cimpoi), a clădit o punte uriaşă legând nordul de sud-estul Europei. Taina forţei traducerilor lui Ion Miloş o putem căuta în destinul său de creator român şi universal în acelaşi timp, de minoritar şi exilat, de gânditor, care a pus mai presus de toate limba maternă, rădăcinile sale, păstrarea identităţii, a felului său de a fi şi gândi dincolo de linii şi bariere lingvistice sau delimitări geografice. Ecoul traducerilor sale, răsună peste vârfuri departe, legând cele două Peninsule: cea Balcanică şi cea Scandinavă.
