Abstract
Differences of translation of the chromonyms can be identified in the Romanian versions of
the Bible. The article presents a typology of differences in two Romanian editions (BB 1688 and
Anania 2001) and seeks to justify them in permanent confrontation with the textual sources. The
examples analysed here demonstrate that the differences are due to errors in the handwritten copies
of the biblical text, to the influence of other biblical editions and to the necessity of rendering the
message of the original texts of Scripture into clear Romanian.
Résumé
Dans les versions roumaines du texte biblique on peut identifier des divergences de
traduction des chromonymes. L’article présente une typologie de ces divergences, enregistrées dans
deux éditions de la Bible en langue roumaine (BB 1688 et Anania 2001), et cherche à les justifier,
se rapportant en permanence aux sources textuelles. Les exemples proposés montrent que les
différences sont dues à des erreurs de copie des manuscrits, à l’influence d’autres éditions bibliques
et au besoin ressenti par le traducteur de rendre le texte plus clair.
Rezumat
În versiunile româneşti ale textului biblic pot fi identificate o serie de divergenţe de
traducere a cromonimelor. Articolul prezintă o tipologie a acestor divergenţe, înregistrate în două
ediţii ale Bibliei în limba română (BB 1688 şi Anania 2001) şi urmăreşte să le justifice prin
raportare permanentă la sursele textuale. Exemplele propuse arată că divergenţele se datorează
copierii greşite a manuscriselor, influenţei altor ediţii biblice sau necesităţii de a reda textul cât
mai clar în limba română.
