Abstract
This short essay draws certain consequences from an extended engagement with translating a selection of Guillaume’s texts into German. It became obvious during the course of this work that among the recurring terms that constitute Guillaume’s specific linguistic vocabulary, not all words matter equally. The ranking I am here endeavouring to establish among them takes the shape of four concentric circles.
Résumé
Ce court essai tire les conséquences d’un long travail de traduction en allemand de textes guillaumiens. Il m’est apparu que, parmi les vocables récurrents qui constituent le vocabulaire spécifique du linguiste, tous n’avaient pas la même importance. La hiérarchie que je m’efforce donc d’établir entre eux prend ici la forme de quatre cercles concentriques.
Rezumat
Acest scurt eseu este consecința unei munci de traducere de lungă durată, în limba germană, a textelor guillaumiene. A rezultat că, între vocabulele recurente care constituie vocabularul specific al lingvistului, nu toate aveau aceeași importanță. Ierarhia pe care mă străduiesc așadar să o stabilesc între ele ia aici forma a patru cercuri concentrice.
