Abstract
This short article sets out to explain the importance of translations worlwide, pointing out to the fact that translation is not an exact science, but rather a form of subjective transfer from one language-culture into another, the words and structures employed being the choice of the translator. However, translation is not a realm of anarchy: it must obey a set of rules, at the core of which lies the principle of accuracy, to which the cultural year 2009 has been dedicated.
